Grant Academy Fellowship Program

The ACES Grant Academy Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for junior and mid-career faculty in counseling to pursue advocacy, practice, and research initiatives through a grant program designed to foster professional development. The fellowship consists of ongoing grant development training; creation and submission of a grant proposal to an agency or funder; and engagement with the Grant Academy community, allowing applicants to gain resources and support based on their specific interests and needs.

DISCLAIMER
Individuals selected for the ACES Grant Academy Fellowship Program will not receive grant funding. The Fellowship provides grant related mentorship and training from vetted, experienced faculty who have successfully secured extramural grants. We believe the program will be most useful for junior and mid-career faculty with “working ideas” that can be further refined and enhanced through the program for their own grant work in the future. We look forward to receiving your applications!

Application Components

Completed Applications will include an Academic Curriculum Vitae (CV), Rationale for Grant Fellowship (up to one page), and Grant Proposal Idea. At a minimum, the Grant Proposal Idea will consist of the following: Title page, project summary, introduction, statement of need, project objectives, method/approach, evaluation plan and budget overview. The proposal idea should be 5 to 8 pages. Please review the Grant Proposal Idea Template for more details about each of these components.

Requirements for Eligibility

Applicants must be current ACES professional members, serve as faculty, and provide two academic or professional references.

Selection Process

The ACES Grant Task Force Committee will be responsible for the selection of fellowship recipients. They will evaluate applications based on applicant interest in the program, alignment of proposals with the goals of the Grant Academy, the significance of the proposed ideas, and the potential impact on the counseling profession. Participants will be notified in early Summer 2024.

We encourage you to seize this opportunity to advance your professional goals and contribute meaningfully to the counseling field through the ACES Grant Academy Fellowship!
