Attention ACES Members:
We are excited to share with you that ACES has signed on as a endorser of the American Sociological Association’s statement regarding faculty reviews and reappointments during the COVID-19 crisis. As the leading professional organization for counselor education and supervision, we know the time and labor commitment our faculty members have expended in their efforts to continue to fulfill their tripartite responsibilities to teaching, scholarship and service. Their work to move their teaching to remote methods has been a huge ask for our members, and it has taken long hours of thoughtful planning and preparation. We also know this has taken time away from other pursuits, such as scholarly work and family responsibilities. As such, we support the ASA movement to ensure this work is recognized and acknowledged during faculty review and reappointment processes.
ACES is proud to endorse this statement and the endorsement has been ratified by the ACES Governing Council in our last meeting.
