Westminster College in Salt Lake City seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in the CACREP-accredited Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling Program (MSMHC) starting Fall 2021. This is a full-time one-year position, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
The program uses a full-time, residential, and cohort-based model and is committed to fostering a strong interpersonal learning environment. Our ideal candidate will display commitments to engaged teaching and active learning as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, they will have clinical and supervisory experience across multiple levels of care.
Major responsibilities include: (1) instruction of master’s level clinical mental health counseling courses in a face-to-face format; (2) curriculum development; (3) supervision of counseling students and interns; and (4) student advisement and recruitment. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach classes in their area of expertise as well as core classes such as Internship, Individual Counseling, Child and Family Counseling, Group Counseling, Counseling Research, Multicultural Counseling, and Career Counseling. Ph.D. or A.B.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, Psychology, or Social Work by August 2021. Additionally, candidates must be license-eligible to practice in Utah, have supervisory and clinical experience in multiple clinical settings, display a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and clinical practice, and successful face-to-face teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. The preferred qualifications for this position include multiple years of 1) successful full-time teaching experience at the graduate level and 2) clinical experience.
