The University of Saint Joseph invites applications for two tenure track, full-time Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies. The position is scheduled to begin in August 2022. The successful candidate will join a learning community where student relationships and diversity, equity, and inclusion are valued. This individual will teach in our CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs and will engage in scholarly work and service to the department, University, and community.
Candidates who have demonstrated a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion, evidenced in teaching, scholarship, and service, are encouraged to apply, as are candidates of diverse ethnicities and identities and candidates with a range of clinical and teaching experience. Candidates with Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Completion of an earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program or ABD by the starting date
Clinical and teaching experience germane to the position
Licensed/Certified or eligible as an LPC or School Counselor in Connecticut
Commitment to an outcome-oriented curriculum designed to prepare students for competent counseling practice
Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
