The Department of Counseling at Tarleton State University is seeking an associate/full professor of counselor education who has a strong record of teaching, service to the profession, and an active research profile with a history of peer-reviewed publications in national journals. We are looking especially for candidates who have a strong identity as a professional counselor and counselor educator and experience with CACREP accreditation.
This position is located primarily at our Fort Worth campus and is scheduled to begin January 1, 2022.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling, conduct scholarly research, and provide service to the university and community.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges with appropriate academic credentials verified by Tarleton’s faculty credentialing processes. Earned doctorate must be from a CACREP-accredited program.
In addition, applicants must have five years of successful teaching experience in a graduate level CACREP-accredited counseling program and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Texas LPC-S.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a distinguished record of scholarship, a demonstrated commitment to training excellent professional counselors, and a record of service to state and/or national professional counseling organizations.
