The Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy in the College of Education and Human Services is seeking applicants for a tenure track core faculty member, who will also be responsible for overseeing the management of on-campus academic activities as Program Director, for the Counseling/Professional Counseling MA/EdS and the School Counseling MA. Core faculty throughout the department are expected to contribute to the collective mission, working collaboratively as colleagues serving programs in counseling and school counseling, marriage and family therapy, counseling psychology, psychological studies, and school psychology. The department has a long-standing commitment to train competent, socially conscious, and reflective professionals. This includes training Professional Counselors and School Counselors who are multi-culturally competent, dedicated to advancing social justice, and prepared to meet the challenges of working in complex urban settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A full-time (9-month) tenure-track appointment at the Associate/Assistant Professor level is available. Salary range is competitive.
An expected 3/3 teaching load with research and service expected. Summer teaching opportunities are generally available.
Depending on the needs of students, program, and department, additional duties include advising, mentoring in research and leadership, and clinical supervision of students, as well as University, College, Department, and Program assignments. Further, we seek an individual who works collaboratively, collegially, and respectfully to promote the mission of the department and programs.
The successful candidate will be a key part of the program review for potential accreditation.
Required Qualifications:

An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education & Supervision or Counseling Psychology is required for the position.
Candidates are expected to clearly identify as a counselor and/or counseling psychologist. Preference will be given to candidates who possess the program leadership experience and skills necessary to further develop the national visibility of the MA/EdS programs.
Accreditation experience is a plus. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to serve as role models for excellence in research and teaching. Evidence of achievement in scholarly productivity and licensure or eligibility for licensure and/or school counselor certification in New Jersey are required. Successful candidates are expected to teach online and on-campus, depending on program needs, and contribute to the overall needs of the Department.
Candidates must demonstrate ability to provide expertise in advanced practice supervision. Specific teaching areas will be determined based on department needs and candidates’ interests. Consistent with program philosophy, the successful candidate must be committed to infusing multicultural content and social justice principles across all course work.
