San Francisco State University, Department of Counseling seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling (MFCC) beginning August 2022. We seek a colleague who is committed to counselor education and whose teaching and research interests include counseling for liberation, advocacy as counselors for systems level change, bilingual counseling, structural competency, and/or serving the needs of culturally diverse communities. We are especially interested in qualified candidates with a demonstrated commitment — through their research, teaching, and service — to culturally responsive pedagogy. A Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program is highly preferred, although candidates with an earned doctorate in MFT, Counseling, Clinical, or Community Psychology, and related fields will be considered with demonstrated counselor identity and/or experience.
