•Teach masters and doctoral level counseling courses related to mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling. Courses are both on campus and web-based.
•Develop curricula materials for on-campus and web-based courses
•Pursue a research agenda
•Assist in program accreditation preparation
•Advise graduate students
•Participate in professional association, community service and university service activities
Minimum Education/Specialty, License/Certification:
•Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision required, preferably from a CACREP
accredited program (ABD applicants will be considered).
•Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or eligibility to become a LPC in New Jersey
•Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), or eligibility
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
•Experience as a mental health counselor
•Knowledge of / interest in psychiatric rehabilitation
•Higher education teaching experience (for recent graduates, this may be limited to graduate assistant activities and/or guest lecturing
The Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions is located in the School of Health Professions. The Department offers a full career ladder of graduate and undergraduate degrees, including a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Track that is accredited by CACREP.
