The focus of this part-time position is to teach graduate courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. This position may also participate on dissertation committees guiding doctoral candidates through doctoral dissertation requirements (as Chair or committee member). This position also provides content expertise to the Department Chair and Dean in areas of counseling. Primary responsibility is to engage students, offer excellent feedback and inspire students to achieve course and program outcomes relevant to the discipline. This position works closely with other faculty teaching in the discipline, program director, Associate Director of Faculty Support and Development, Department Chair, and Dean.

Essential Functions:

The role of part-time professor may include teaching courses within a programmatic discipline as assigned, acting as a Dissertation Chair and/or as a Dissertation Committee Member.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of Northcentral University, and the school of Social Behavioral Sciences
  • Promotes a graduate culture of scholarship, teaching, service, and practice
  • Demonstrates commitment to and capacity for Teaching Through Engagement and using the NUC One-to-One apprenticeship style teaching model
  • Teaches masters and/or doctoral courses in the Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program (with some possible options for teaching in Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy based on credentials).
  • Participates in initial and ongoing training
  • Participate in curriculum development and course revisions
