The Counseling Program in the Adrian Dominican School of Education at Barry University seeks a Program Director for its Master of Science in Counseling. This is a vibrant program known for excellence in teaching, supervision, and its outstanding student-centered approach. An Associate or Full Professor is sought to begin in August 2021. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Director of the MS in Counseling Program will work collaboratively with the Director of the Ph.D. in Counseling Program.

 

The Counseling Program holds CACREP accreditation in its PhD and Master’s in Counseling with specializations in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling.

Essential Functions
This position involves strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Master of Science in Counseling program, with some teaching and advising at the master’s and doctoral levels. The MS Program Director’s responsibilities include:(1) supervision of three MS degree program specializations, (2) oversight of admissions process, (3) academic advisement, (4) teaching, and (5) oversight of CACREP accreditation requirements.
Successful candidates should demonstrate strong administrative and interpersonal skills; a collaborative style, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, collaborate and develop partnerships with public and private entities; and experience with accreditation approval processes.
The Counseling Program holds CACREP accreditation in its PhD and Master’s in Counseling with specializations in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:

Administrative experience in and oversight of a counseling program,
Held leadership positions in state and/or national professional organizations,
A record of scholarship through presentations and publications,
A record of writing for and securing grants,
experience in mentoring research projects and directing dissertations,
A Florida license (LMHC or LMFT) or eligibility,
Clinical experience and expertise in clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and/or marriage and family counseling,
Experience with multi-disciplinary collaboration

Qualifications/Requirements
Candidate must have a Ph.D. from a CACREP-accredited program and a minimum of six years graduate teaching experience in a counseling program.
Administrative experience in and oversight of a counseling program,
Held leadership positions in state and/or national professional organizations,
A record of scholarship through presentations and publications,
A record of writing for and securing grants,
experience in mentoring research projects and directing dissertations,
A Florida license (LMHC or LMFT) or eligibility,
Clinical experience and expertise in clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and/or marriage and family counseling,
Experience with multi-disciplinary collaboration
