Job Description: Associate / Assistant Professor of Counselor Education, 9-Month, tenure-track position, available January 2019. Primary teaching responsibilities include face-to-face, hybrid, and online graduate courses in research, assessment, play therapy, internship and related counseling areas. Supervision of clinical field experiences and research leading to publications and presentations at academic conferences is expected. The faculty workload consists of the teaching equivalent of nine graduate credit hours per semester. Additional duties include academic advising, research and scholarship, university service, collaboration, accreditation related activities, promotion of the program and the university, and other duties as assigned by the department chair. In pursuit of this commitment, candidates will possess an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (ABDs considered) from a CACREP accredited institution. Candidates must demonstrate success in having taught courses in research, assessment, play therapy, and clinical & community mental health at the university level; scholarly achievement in teaching, research and service; and activity in appropriate professional societies. Strong interpersonal skills, online education experience, excellent organizational and communication skills are expected. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will hold a specialization in school counseling or eligibility for relevant licensure as Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
