Fatma Salem: I am a first-generation immigrant from Tunisia. I came to the U.S in 2011 and, shortly after, began my academic journey earning a bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science, then a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a mental health counselor working toward my license in the state of MA, a program director managing a residential program helping adults with developmental challenges transition into independent living, and I am an Adjunct Professor. When I am not working, I enjoy singing and writing songs, playing tennis, exercising, going to the beach, and spending time with friends.
